HOW it started.
Hey, my Name is Louis and I’m the founder of Boosted Moose.
This journey began in a small, personal way. When I moved back to Germany after finishing my studies in Sweeden, I was driving a VW Passat B6. It was very reliable, spacious and comfortable – but I knew that it was time for something different.
My brother worked at a local Volvo dealer anddrove a V50 T5 AWD when I came back. I still remember the first drive I had with his car – it felt like the perfect balance: compact yet family-friendly, powered by Volvo’s iconic 5-cylinder engine, and a design that resonated strongly with me.
That day marked the start of a deeper appreciation for Volvo and a community I didn’t yet know I’d be part of.
How it went.
On the left side you can see “V-Link v0.1”. Being a kid from the 90s and growing up with franchises like “Need For Speed Underground” and “Fast and the Furious” I was heavily inspired by the extra gauges you could find in many tuning cars of that time.
However, as a designer I despited the idea to install cheap aftermarket gauges on the beautiful Volvo. So, I rolled up my sleeves and started tinkering.
That first prototype you see on the right was just the beginning. What started as a personal project quickly evolved into something bigger. Along the way, the community stepped in: fellow enthusiasts shared ideas, tested setups, and contributed fixes. Every improvement, every creative solution, made the project stronger than I could have achieved alone.
Where we are.
Fast forward to 2025—five years into this journey, and the project has grown into a vibrant, global community. Active members from around the world are using the app, sharing ideas, and helping shape it into something real. Together, we’ve solved bugs, refined setups, and turned a personal vision into a collective achievement.
I never studied electrical engineering or programming. This project is proof that passion, curiosity, and collaboration can take an idea further than you ever imagined.
The future is bright, and with each new person joining the Boosted Moose community, it only gets better.
