The idea.

In the 2000s, the automotive industry began integrating digital screens into cars, a promising innovation at the time. However, these systems quickly became outdated, and today, they feel obsolete, lacking modern features and functionality, making them nearly unusable. The goal was clear:

LIVE ECU / SENSOR DATA

APPLE CARPLAY / ANDROID AUTO

STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS

RICH USER SETTINGS

The APP.

Boosted Moose V-Link is a passion-driven initiative to modernize retro cars. Designed for tinkerers and car enthusiasts, V-Link runs on Raspberry Pi OS, ensuring full flexibility without third-party limitations.

Beyond just visuals, V-Link offers rich customization and features like analog sensor support, data logging, and exposed config files. With a growing community, future updates will bring even better compatibility, preconfigured settings, and enhanced diagnostics.

The complete code and installation process is thoroughly detailed in our GitHub repository. In the spirit of open-source collaboration, we invite you to fork the project, suggest improvements, and share new ideas with the community. Join the discussion on our Discord—we’d love to see you there!

The HAT.

Using the app is completely free to use and will also stay that way. To use it with your vehicle, you need to for example connect CAN modules and solve the issue about powering your Raspberry, amongst many other things.

For that matter I created the V-Link HAT. It is working Plug and Play with the app and saves you from all the pain that I had to go through. Also, it looks pretty slick!

By purchasing the hardware from me, you are actively supporting me and the Development of the project in which I already sunk countless hours. I’d highly appreciate it! 🙂
